Yes, magazine orders can be purchased and sent to a Correctional Facility. There are many rules and regulations for mail sent to recipients at these locations. Please be sure to follow all guidelines provided by each facility before placing your order, and see below for our additional recommendations and information:
- Per the rules of most correctional facilities, Maxim & Inked are prohibited titles and considered contraband. These titles are commonly ordered and not received due to the rules of the correction facility that the inmate is a part of.
- Please note that all mail received at a correctional facility is monitored, sorted, and subject to confiscation. For such reasons, Blue Dolphin is not responsible for non-delivery of issues to an inmate.
- When an inmate is transferring facilities, publishers need to know about an address change 2-3 months in advance so that there are no missed issues. As transferring may have a short notice, we are able to change the address when requested, but Blue Dolphin is not responsible for issues missed during this time.
- All inmate orders do require an inmate number in the subscriber name line. If an inmate number is not entered at the time of purchase, we may not be able to add the number once the order is processed, as this is considered a name and address change, which most publishers do not allow.
- We recommend entering recipient information in the following format for orders sent to Correctional Facilities:
(First Name, Last Name Inmate number no symbols)
(Address Line 1, Physical address)
(Address Line 2/Company Line, Facility name)
(City/State/Zip)
- Inmate numbers should be entered after the last name only
- Name fields can contain letters and numbers only. Adding symbols in the name fields (#, @, -, *, etc.) can cause information entered after the symbol to be removed so we recommend any common symbols like hyphens and apostrophes be omitted
- There is a limit of 24 characters per line on magazine mailing labels. Please utilize the second address line for the facility name
- We recommend entering recipient information in the following format for orders sent to Correctional Facilities:
